Dr. T. Stephen Balch received his undergraduate degree form Northwestern University and his MD from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He was at the National Institutes of Health with the Clinical Research Centers branch for two years. He also served as the chief medical resident at Emory University Hospital. Since he has entered into private practice, he has been the chairman of the Patient Education Committee of the Lupus Foundation of America, as well as a member of their Board of Directors. He was appointed to the Health Education Affinity Group of the National Health Council and served as Chairman of this group. He is Board Certified from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
Dr. Balch served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jacquelyn McClure Lupus Center for twenty years and has seen patients from all over the United States (including Alaska), Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, England, France, Canada, and South America.
Dr. Balch is recognized as one of the foremost authorities on autoimmune disease and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the AARDA, the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association.
Kathleen Joslin provides specialized medical care in her role as Physician’s Assistant. Now in her seventh year with the practice, Katie is an Atlanta native who received her Bachelor of Arts and her Masters of Medical Science degrees from Emory University. She graduated with highest honors.
Katie is a member of the Georgia Association of Physicians Assistants, The American Academy of Physician Assistants, and serves as a leader for clinical case studies for PA students at Emory.
